On one level you've gotta look at the Crimanimalz and think to yourself, "Self: America has come pretty far if the only worthwhile thing left for "activists" to protest is being treated unfairly at Critical Mass."
But then you realize that this alleged "mistreatment" didn't occur on the rough and tumble dog eat dog streets of New York or San Francisco but on the breezy boulevards of Santa Monica.
That's right. Santa Monica. Bitch, please.
Even thought its most famous landmark is a Ferris Wheel overlooking the ocean, the land of Jack Tripper, is actually an oppressive police state with the 3rd St. Promenade doubling as Tiananmen Square on Critical Mass nights.
While riding on the freeway might have been somewhat cool but ultimately lacking in the testicles department as riding amongst parked cars isn't all that dangerous, the butt hurt Crimanimalz elevated their game to new low by staging a protest against the tyrannical SMPD by clogging a crosswalk and causing a traffic jam much to the dismay of innocent bystanders just trying to get somewhere on a Friday night.
Next time you go into battle Crimanimalz, please, do us all a favor and try to be a little steadier with the camera.

your entire blog gives no positive view on anything. i am up for a little constructive criticism and understand that not everyone has the same POV nor opinion, however, you don't even offer that.
your only point is that "crimanimalz picked on Santa Monica and not a more rougher neighborhood" and you use tiananmen square?
my question to you is, do you realize what crimanimalz was protesting, what the activists were trying to say?
do you even know what the people at tiananmen square were trying to say?
if so, i don't think you would EVER compare the two.
here's my answer as to why i believe crimanimalz was there: For equality.. understanding and acceptance as cyclists within, a part of and as one with the community of Santa Monica who proudly states they are a bike-friendly town, however constricts the growth of bicyles amoungst its residents by hounding the cyclists as if in a police state for reasons of control as well as having the means to do so, etc.

Critical Mass does not seek to put bikes on par with cars. It seeks to take over the streets. It is not about acceptance, it is about juvenile displays to gain attention. If Critical Mass organized large rides and shows of support for biking while still obeying the laws, then Santa Monica would be in the wrong. However, Critical Mass openly violates the traffic laws on a regular basis. While I appreciate your commitment, Bond, to improving the environment etc., I believe the City has not only the right, but the obligation to enforce the laws and not turn a blind eye simply because biking has a lower carbon footprint. If the law is on the books, it should be enforced. If the effects of the law suck, it should be rewritten, not ignored.

Your thorough evaluation of the situation and the multiple factors involving Crimanimalz, Santa Monica Critical Mass, SMPD and the riders involved is unprecedented. I am sure bike advocates everywhere, and the world in general, will benefit from this analysis. Not all of us have the time to really break down a situation and understand the background, but luckily we have you to explain it to us.
